Why Choose Acrylic?

There are two main options when it comes to boat windscreens: acrylic and polycarbonate. So why choose acrylic? Its advantages include:

Scratch-resistance: Acrylic screens are more resistant to scratches than polycarbonate options. Minor scuffs can also be buffed out.

Toughness: While polycarbonate screens might be near-unbreakable, acrylic ones can withstand most damage and are more affordable. In fact, most major manufacturers fit their boats with acrylic screens.

UV protection: Regular polycarbonate screens can lose their clarity after several summers of harsh sunlight; acrylic screens do not. This is because acrylic already offer UV protection without any alterations.
